Matt Anderson is from San Angelo, Texas. After a few years of college, Matt felt the call to serve his country and enlist in the U.S. Army as a Cavalry Scout (19d) where he spent five years on Active Duty (2007-2012). He was assigned to 1st Armored Division, 6 Squadron, 1 Cavalry Regiment, Bravo Troop. Matt did one combat tour to Iraq with 6-1CAV as the senior scout's gunner. After receiving his honorable discharge in 2012 he felt the call to ministry which allowed him to receive his BA from Lubbock Christian University in Youth and Family Ministry and a Master of Divinity from Duke University where he specialized in Church History and Theology. Matt, and his family, have been fortunate to serve in multiple ministry settings and currently serve at a Christian non-profit in East Texas.

Matt has a heart for serving folks who are in need. The mission of the RWF appealed to him for his desire to care for fellow veterans, first responders, as well as civilians.
