Jason William Costello Colonel, USAF (Retired)

While it means many things to many people, for those of us who have risked our lives
to defend this great nation, we know the true depth of Service to our calling and our comrades.

“Giving Back To Those Who Served” is the honorable mission of the Roy Williams
Foundation. I appreciate the opportunity to serve this foundation in achieving its
mission to assist those comrades truly deserving our support and gratitude.

I retired after 25 years of service and worldwide adventure with the Air Force. Across
the Far East, Middle East, Europe, South and North America, this global adventure
honed my ability to think strategically and act quickly – whether by flying fighters at
Mach-2, de-escalating tensions with Russians over a military hotline, or defending North
America from inside our NORAD headquarters. Leading both small and large
organizations while caring for our nation’s greatest asset – our volunteer force of
professionals – will always be the highlight of my time in uniform.

Yet transitioning from a bright career of military service proved far more difficult that I
had ever imagined. I grappled with loss of purpose, loss of friends, loss of self-identity. I
understand first-hand the darkness that can cloak our veterans. I’m passionate about
instilling hope and renewing our veterans’ sense of purpose, while strengthening their
place of honor in our community.

Making a difference motivates me. I am keen to continue making a positive impact with
the Roy Williams Foundation and to contribute to a cause greater than myself.
