Dr. Michelle Flores

A Biography and resume’ for Dr. Michelle Flores.
 

Michelle has years of training and education in both Eastern and Western Medicines and is devoted to a
comprehensive integrative practice that serves the whole individual. She earned her clinical Doctorate
of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at Emperor’s College of Traditional Oriental Medicine in Santa
Monica, Ca. in 2018. There, she specialized in integrated Acute Care, Traumatology and Wilderness,
Rural Medicine. Her capstone work was in developing a textbook on Integrated Emergency Medicine for
First Responders.

 

She received her Masters of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Texas Health and Science
University in 2016 where she specialized in Neurology and Internal Medicine. Her Bachelors was
completed in 1996 at Austin College, as small, private pre-med and liberal arts school in Sherman Texas
with a double degree.

 

In addition to the study of Chinese Medicine, Michelle has extensive graduate studies in Anthropology
(Medical, Physical and Human Evolution), Forensic Psychology (Profiling, Police Psychology, Crisis
Intervention and Hostage Negotiations) and Human Behavior.

 

Much of Michelle’s career included training and work in Emergency Services as a Peace Officer,
Firefighter and EMT. She also recently completed the Paramedic Academy and earned her Associates in
Applied Science in EMS-Paramedic. She returns to fire in January 2021 for Fire Academy and a Fire
Science Associates Program, while continuing to serve her community as a Doctor (DOAM). Paramedic,
Wilderness Paramedic and Fireline Medic. She holds certifications in CPR/AED/First Aid, Basic Life
Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support and Bloodborne Pathogens.

 

Michelle is a licensed Acupuncturist in Colorado and a Diplomat of Acupuncture with NCCAOM. She
belongs to the Acupuncture Association of Colorado, the American Association of Acupuncture and
Oriental Medicine and the honor societies of Lambda Alpha and Sigma Xi.

 

Michelle serves as CEO on the Board of Directors for Angel Wings Community Medicine as well as
functions as the Doctor at the Clinic. She also serves as a member of the VALE Board for the 11 th Judicial
District working to serve Law Enforcement and Victim’s Assistance for the District and is a trained
member of the Peer Support Team.

 

Michelle also trained and instructed Military, Special Forces and Law Enforcement (Federal, State and
Local) in close quarter edged-weapon combat. This training was a critical aspect in laying the foundation
for developing an understanding of PTSD, stress and burnout in our Warriors.

 

Throughout life, Michelle has also practiced meditation and traditional Yoga and has applied these
therapies personally since 1982 and taught others how to utilize these practices for their own healing
since 1993. She has thousands of hours of teacher training in traditions ranging from Iyengar to
Ashtanga to Kundalini. She has trained, taught and worked with clients all over the world.

 

Michelle is very excited to bring her knowledge, experience and passion to help the Roy Williams
Foundation work to advance their mission.
